Rd Study Questions

The RD Exam is a beast, it covers topics you have learned in your DPD program and while in the internship. It requires serious critical thinking skills and in-depth knowledge. Due to the amount of material on the exam, we recommended a solid 2-4 months of preparation before taking the exam. If you can, it is best to study in the last few months of your internship, and then really go HARD for about a month after you complete your internship.
You absolutely need a study guide to prepare for the RD Exam. Although it may be possible to prepare utilizing your notes from your DPD courses and internship, it is not recommended. Our Pass Class program (used by 2000+ RD2BEs!) includes an extensive 650+ page study guide, review session recordings, and tutor-led community that will help you study smarter so you can pass the exam! Click here for more details regarding Pass Class!
While mastering a 650+ page study guide and answering practice questions may seem like a lot, when you put into perspective, it is not. (And once you learn the Study Smarter Method, you will realize you are NOT trying to memorize this whole binder!) Think about it, you have been studying this material for years. You just went through a 1200+ hour supervised practice implementing all the skills and knowledge you have acquired thus far. Some concepts will be easier for you grasp and master while others will be more difficult and take a little bit of time. You have to identify your strengths and weaknesses. You may know MNT really well but struggle with the research concepts. Or you may know Food Service really well but struggle with MNT. Remember, this is just one more stepping stone to achieving your dream.
Every examinee has different needs that will help them pass the RD exam. We suggest you explore the option of getting adding a tutor to your Pass Class program. Schedule a call with our Enrollment Coach to see if tutoring aligns with what you need to have a happy Exam day.Benefits of 1:1 TutoringTo feel more confidence on Exam DayTo fill in knowledge gaps in weak areasTo ensure readiness to take the RD examTo have an expert by their side cheering them onTo be held accountable to stick to a study plan
The review sessions are all recordings so that you can watch them on your own time. In the Pass Class Community, the tutor posts mini lessons, and monitors the community every day to answer questions as quickly as possible. A few times a year, we host a live practice question workshop, and for those, they are free for Pass Class students.
Susy will cover the information you need to know for the exam and share mnemonics, tips, and advice to help you understand the concepts. At the end, she will provide questions on the material covered to practice applying the information.
Ideally more than 2 months before your exam date. We have many Pass Class customers that enroll during their internship or graduate program who use the tools during their programs as a reference too. It is never too early to get access! You can then delay your review session recording access until you are ready to fully dive into studying.
Paper-based study materials, including the Pass the Exam Prep binder, are non-refundable. If for any reason a Pass the Exam Prep binder refund is approved by the company, return shipping is typically the responsibility of the customer, and shipping charges are non-refundable. Refund requests for Pass the Exam Prep Online may be made no later than 2 days after purchase and on a case-by-case basis.
Yes, other study guides have more practice questions, but the difference is how you use them to study. In typical (and less effective methods) students do a large chunk of questions, grade themselves, look up the incorrect answers and move on. They also start to repeat the questions and then end up memorizing the right answers. This is not the way to prepare for the exam. In Pass the Exam Prep, we teach the Study Smarter Method, which teaches you how to use the practice questions in a different and more effective away, so the number needed to use is much lower, but still prepares you more adequately for the exam. This is also a less overwhelming approach!
There is a tutor that moderates the Pass Class Community, and he answers student questions and posts video lessons twice a week. If you would like to add on 1-on-1 tutoring, please book a call with our Enrollment Coach here.
